Parkeon’s Ultimate terminal issues tickets for
parking, transport, entertainment and leisure activities
UK Headquarters,
April 23 2008 – Parkeon’s new Strada® Ultimate multi-purpose payment
terminal is making its UK
debut at Parkex 2008. Based upon the
Company’s well-proven range of Strada
parking machines, it features a larger graphics screen and enhanced software
that enable users to select and pay for a range of services and activities
simultaneously at the same terminal.
“The range of applications for
the Strada Ultimate is virtually endless”, explains Bob Barnes, Parkeon’s
UK Geomarket Director. “For example, a
user could purchase a Pay & Display or Pay-by-Space parking ticket; pay to
take a bus, train or tram into the city centre; and then buy tickets for sports
events, leisure facilities, or entertainment
all from the one machine.”
Parkeon has introduced an
additional module for its Parkfolio® back office system that enables
the operator to download and update information and prices remotely on all the
products/services offered. The system
also generates detailed financial and management reports for each
product/service, as well as for the combined operations.
The Strada Ultimate is a
user-friendly terminal that saves customers time by reducing the number of
times that they have to queue to buy tickets for the range of services and
activities offered. It also enables them
to make a single payment for all of their purchases.
New Strada Pay-by–Space
parking terminal
Parkeon is expanding its range
of parking space management solutions with the introduction of a Pay-by-Space
version of its Strada payment terminal. The
new model requires parking spaces to be individually numbered. Drivers enter the relevant bay number on the
terminal’s LCD screen and select and pay for the parking period required. They do not have to return to their vehicles
to display a ticket, as is the case with P&D. A GPRS wireless network link enables them to
“top-up” the parking time paid-for on any other machine on the same system in
order to avoid incurring a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN). Parking operators have the option as to
whether or not the machines issue receipts, which provides them with the
opportunity to cut the cost of consumables.
A Pay–by-Space scheme can be
enforced more efficiently than P&D. Instead
of checking that every vehicle is displaying a valid ticket, parking attendants
confirm which bays contain legally
parked vehicles, via hand-held terminals.
This leaves them free to check on the remaining spaces to see whether
they are empty or that the paid-for period has expired and a PCN should be
issued.
