Dallas, TX, June 1, 2008 – At the 2008 IPI Show, Parkeon, Parkeon, the world’s leading provider of integrated on-street parking systems, introduced their first American-made multi-space parking meter. Currently, there are over 13,000 European made Parkeon pay stations in the U.S., but plans are to manufacture new Strada pay stations at Flextronics in Plano, TX. Flextronics is a leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider focused on delivering complete design, engineering and manufacturing services to automotive, computing, consumer digital, industrial, infrastructure, medical and mobile OEMs. Flextronics operates in 30 countries, with a world-class workforce that includes approximately 4,000 design engineers. Parkeon believes that building products in the U.S. will be more cost-effective and efficient because shipping costs can be eliminated and turn-around time can improve.
